Accessibility Statement

Standards we target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the web app and the installable (PWA) experience. Accessibility is an ongoing effort — we track known issues and work them into each release.

What we do today

• Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy and landmarks.
• Keyboard-navigable interfaces with visible focus indicators, including chat, rooms, and activity dialogs.
• Sufficient color contrast for text and UI controls.
• Alt text on informative images and ARIA labels on icon-only buttons such as react, report, and pin.
• Live regions so new chat messages, questions, and activity prompts are announced to screen readers.
• Responsive layouts that scale from mobile to desktop and support browser zoom.
• Respect for prefers-reduced-motion where animations are used.
• Extra time to respond to in-class activities on request from the instructor's controls.

Known gaps we are working on

• Full screen-reader testing across every dashboard and lesson flow.
• Captions and transcripts for instructor-uploaded media, which depend on the source file.
• High-contrast theme option.
• Complete keyboard shortcuts documentation.

Accommodations

If an accessibility barrier is preventing you from participating in a course, contact us and, where relevant, your institution's disability services office. We will work with your institution to find a workable alternative while we fix the underlying issue.

Reporting issues

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us through our contact form with a description of the issue, the page URL, and the assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
